Lost property already in SBB office but not updated in claim.

I left my backpack in train on July 10. I could not make call for express recovery on time
I have the report number K2025/124541.

I tracked my lost backpack to SBB offices at Wylerstrasse 123, Bern. But it does not appear as matched in the follow up app.

I was on my way out of the country when I left my backpack. I have changed my airplane ticket twice. I have had to book hotel for all the additional days.
The responses from lost and found are not very useful. Just wait. The first response wait a couple of days, then 4-5 days, then 20 days, then first email at 7 days second email at 14 days.
I do not live in Switzerland. I have medicines, audition aides, prescription glasses, keys to home and car, etc.

I just want to have acknowledgement that my backpack is under your custody and I can make further arrangements to prolong g my stay.

It is very stressful to not have information and be told to wait

It might be the case that your lost item has already arrived at the central storage for lost items, that is indeed at Wylerstrasse, but it has not been processed yet. Only when it has been clearly identified as yours, and it has been registered accordingly, you will hear positive news. Important is, to provide sufficient information on the lost item (type, brand, colour, specialities, content, etc.), so it can be easily recognised as yours.

The processing can take up to three weeks according to our experience. This is due to the huge amount of items that are lost every day on Swiss transport services during peak travel season just as now. All you need is a little patience. If your item would not have a tracker, you would not even know that is at the central storage. These trackers are curses and blessings.

Can you go to Wylerstrasse in person? No, the central storage does not accept any visitors. The items are processed after the date they came in.

Good morning, I do not have any info about your bag, I’m sorry. I’m sorry you’ve been going through this ordeal. I also lost a bag on July 10th—it included my passport, wallet, eyeglasses, electronics, all my important items. I did not have an AirTag in it. I’m wondering, original poster, if you would have time to update this forum when your bag is finally processed and returned to you? That would give me an idea of how long to keep waiting/hoping my bag is in Bern lost & found office. Thank you very much for your time in reading this. Best of luck to you!

Sheethooxoiz79 I went to the Bern office of lost and found where my bag was located per AirTag. The woman there was obnoxiously rude. I went to the Bern train station, and everybody there were kind and extremely helpful.
I did not get my bag the day I visited but the next day I received a mail stating it was found and asking if I could pick it up in Bern train station.

The incredibly helpful attitude of the staff in the Bern main train station may have made the difference. All my belongings were recovered. Amazing people in main train station in Bern.

The awful attitude of the staff in Geneva airport, Geneva Cornavain and the storage of lost and found (Wylerstrasse 123, Bern) would doubtfully help me to recover my backpack. These are the typical useless bureaucrats who do the minimum and could not be concerned about worried train passengers.

I am now on my way back to my country

However, it is not a reason to be impolite at the reception.
