Lucerne to Tirano

I plan to travel on 10th or 11th october from
Lucerne to Tirano (via Lugano - Monza - Tirano). Regular trains/ Regional trains
Am returning via Bernina express from Tirano to Chur (have paid for Seat Reservation). i hope no additional ticket is needed for italian section , as i have swiss travel pass

My question .

Till which station does Swiss Travel Pass is valid. (i presume till Monza).
From Monza to Tirano do i need to book a Ticket .
Are there any direct train without change at Lecco.
Can i get the timetable from 9 AM (different sites are giving contrasting information . Some say compulsory transfer at Lecco.. some say direct Monza to Tirano via Trenard Line RE2820 or RE 2822.. direct train without any changes , reaching Tirano at 12.52/13.52.

Kindly advise .

The Swiss Travel Pass is valid from Tirano to Chur, also on the short section in Italy.

Between Lugano and Tirano, I see only trains with one change at Monza on sbb.ch, but check again the timetable short before departure. Last minute changes are always possible.

You need a ticket from Chiasso (border station) to Tirano. This is the same train until Monza, but the operator changes in Italy (Trenord instead of SBB).

Please note that tickets in Italy are valid only in the selected train. I suggest to buy them on Trenitalia.com or in Trenitalia mobile app with an account. You can choose another train before departure if you change your plan.

Yes i had seen the above train timings. So i have to purchase a separate ticket from Chiasso to Tirano on Trenitalia.com or their app. ..
so i can conclude that monza to tirano it is a direct train with no changes.

Why not take the Bernina Express bus from Lugano to Tirano? It is covered by your Swiss Pass.

already booked my return journey on bernina express from tirano to chur
