Without any date & time, it is difficult to follow your steps. I can see that in case two, the adult rate is different. It might be that the Supersaver rate is unavailable (out of stock) when more than 2 persons are part of the booking. You can try with Trenitalia, https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html, too.

Thanks for the reply! I’m planning to make my trip on 10 June around 830am which is still a long way to go 😅 but I thought it would be prudent to sort this out early.

Is it advisable to:

1) Buy the adult Supersaver tickets first and buy the children tickets later separately? Not sure if there will be any issues with the cabin/seats.

2) Just chill and buy all tickets together like a few days before 10 June. Not sure about the availability/popularity of the train so wanted to book it early and get it over with.

If you book separately, then the seat reservation will not be with each other (the system will assign this automatically). Supersaver tickets are limited, it can happen that shortly before your departure only normal price tickets are available.
