There is no guarantee. This is mass transit. People get on the train, and find a seat. And if more people board than there are free seats then some people will have to stand. On the Swiss Train network this is however rare, as there are enough trains and enough seats. So usually you will find seats together your liking. Average occupancy on Swiss trains is rather low as you will quickly notice.
Swiss people will rarely bother with reservations on domestic train trips.
