Hello,
I forgot my phone yesterday on a train. It was turned off and I have no localization of it.
When a phone is found or given to an onboard service personnel, is it generally turned off (last hope that it was not stolen…)? I have already filled a lost form.

No smart phones cannot be turned off without entering the code to unlock.

Thank you for your answer. I may have formulated wrongly my question, but all iphones can be turned off when locked. Holding the side and volume buttons (or the side/top button, depending on the model) brings up the power-off slider, regardless of whether the phone is locked or not.

The train staff is advised to turn off the phone when found, provided they know how…

It may take 3 weeks to return your phone, simply be patient.

For anyone in the future, my iphone was found. I received a message 2 days after it got lost.
And it is correct, the train staff turned it off when they found it.
