If a ticket is suggested on a journey on sbb.ch or in the SBB Mobile app, the entire journey is covered by the ticket. Our public transportation system is fully integrated, therefore you don’t have to worry about getting separate tickets from the separate public transport operators. Only the Basel SBB - Lucerne leg of your journey is actually operated by SBB.
Stay away from supersaver tickets just after an incoming flight, as those are the only tickets which are bound to the selected bus/trains - that’s the tradeoff for the cheaper price. (There is no ‘supersaver day pass’)
If your flight is delayed and you miss that specific bus/train, your money is lost, while regular tickets are usually valid all day so you’d simply take the next bus/train.
A saver day pass could never be a better deal than a regular single journey (point-to-point) ticket to Stansstad, as that journey is not THAT long/expensive. The regular full fare ticket is 46.60. while a full fare SDP is not available under 52.00
