Bike cardboard box via Airtrain

Hi,
I’m traveling to Zurich via Swiss Airlines, and then I’m heading to Lausanne with SBB trains (Airtrain service from Swiss Airlines). I registered my bike via Swiss Airlines. It’s a cardboard box: L:150, W:30, H:60.

Is it allowed to bring it to the train? Should I choose a wagon with a dedicated bike rack? Do I need a reservation in advance?

Hello Hossein

Bicycles in card boxes require a bicycle ticket as the only place to store them on the train is where bicycles can be transported. And these places are not free of charge.

For IC5 trains you need a reservation on all days until 31 Oct, for the IC1 on Fri-Sun only.
