On the journey from Cologne Main Station (31/08/25 at 23:42) to Basel SBB (01/09/25 at 06:20) on IC 60403, Coach 159, Seat(s) 51, I experienced abusive and discriminatory behavior from a train crew member.
While I was using the toilet, the crew member suddenly opened the door and ordered me to leave immediately. He wrongly accused me of smoking inside the WC and of triggering the fire alarm, although the alarm had already been ringing before I entered. Despite my repeated explanations and two German-speaking women talking in support of me, he verbally abused me harshly in German.
As an Indian immigrant working in Switzerland, I was also subjected to a racist comment. The staff member assumed I was just a tourist and treated me in a discriminatory and degrading way. This was deeply humiliating and distressing, in addition to being unprofessional and unacceptable behavior from an SBB employee.
I respectfully request a full investigation into this incident and appropriate disciplinary action against the staff member involved. Passengers should never be subjected to racist remarks, false accusations, or public humiliation when traveling.
