Dear SBB Customer Service Center:
I was traveling from Glattbrugg station to Raperswil-Jona station on 10.09.2025, I can
not buy train ticket through SBB.ch due to a technical problem, and the pl.2 no ticket machine, I was boarding on the train and got a ticket penalty CHF 100.
The SBB.CH technical problem is:
Restriction on ticket purchases. Due to technical problems, it is currently not possible to purchase tickets. Please try
again later.
According to the SBB rules:
You will not be charged a penalty by the
SBB directly onto your credit card if you are caught without a valid ticket; instead, you will receive an invoice or be given a form with an ID number to pay the surcharge, typically at an online payment portal, which accepts credit cards and other popular payment methods.
And,
The penalty charge from Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) for traveling without a valid ticket can range from CHF 90.00 for a first offense to CHF 160.00 for subsequent offenses.
I was charged penalty fare CHF 90 plus CHF 10 ticket fare from my credit card without invoice or receipt by the SBB transit employee on the train directly on Sep. 10, 2025.
