I previously booked a train ticket from Zürich HB to Milano Centrale. When I received the order confirmation, I discovered that the Swiss Half Fare Card discount wasn’t applied to the ticket. Previously, the discount was automatically applied, but this time it wasn’t. Furthermore, the ticket I purchased this time is non-refundable. Is there any way to resolve this issue?

This is not an issue. When you buy a non-refundable discounted ticket (Smart), you have no supplementary discount with a Half Fare Travelcard.

You can obtain a refund of Swiss Supersaver tickets only if you are unable to travel due to an illness or an accident and you have a medical certificate to attest this.

For international tickets, it is not possible, unless you have a travel insurance which covers this case or perhaps others.
