The AJC is only valid if you have separate contracts, for example a GA in Switzerland and a SNCF ticket Basel - Paris, purchased on sncf-connect.
If you have a through ticket, for example Chur - Paris purchased on sbb.ch in one transaction, the regular passenger rights apply.
An example with this journey Chur - Paris, if you miss the connection with the last TGV of the day in Basel.
With the AJC, you cannot obtain a refund of a hotel night in Basel. You may have a compensation according the Swiss rights if you are one hour late in Basel (refund one day GA) and you can use the SNCF ticket on the following day with a free new reservation.
With a through ticket and the regular passenger rights, you can obtain a refund of the hotel night in Basel, travel on the following day and may obtain compensation of 50% of the ticket price.
