Best type of ticket Zurich to St. Moritz Return

I arrive at Zurich Airport on Jan 11, would like to catch train to St. Moritz and return on the 14th. I would like to travel 1st class, 1 person (senior). Would I benefit from a saver day pass or should I just get a straight point to point ticket return? Also, what if I book a train and my flight is delayed, what kind of ticket can be changed? Thank you.

Information in the previous post of @Tafunge25 is very good, but I noted a small error: the mentioned prices are in 2nd class and would be higher in 1st class.

Also note that a regular (point-to-point) return ticket is valid only one day. So you’d need single journey tickets, costing exactly half as much than a return ticket anyway.

You have the following options to chose from:

Saver’s day pass: Valid on all regular trains (and busses and boats) in Switzerland, cost depends on date of purchase as well as number of already sold tickets for that day. The current price is 61 swiss francs and the daypass is not refundable.
Regular tickets: Valid for all connections on that day (on the chosen route), refundable. Price: 84 swiss francs
Saver’s ticket: Reduced price which depends on a lot of factors. The ticket can is only valid for the exact connection it is sold for. If you miss your train, you will need to buy a new ticket.
Saver’s ticket flex: Price between Saver’s ticket and regular ticket. This too is only valid for a given connection, but it can be refunded to get back 50% of the price before the scheduled departure of the first train.

Note that all saver’s option can be sold out.
My recommended ticket would be a regular ticket; you never know what could happen with the flight. For the return ticket, a saver’s ticket might be a good idea if there are some avaliable for the time of departure of your flight. You have no right to refunds for the flight if your train arrives late at the airport. Important:

The preset on the online timetable is half-fare (‘Halbtax’) prices; you need to change the preset.
Seat reservations are not needed on the trains and in 1st class, it is extremely rare not to find a seat.
There are two hourly connections form Zürich Flughafen to St. Moritz: Either via Zürich HB - Landquart by RE13 or via Zürich HB - Chur by IR38. Both routes are included in the ticket, but in my opinion, the IR38 is more scenic.
If you chose to take the RE13, be sure to board the correct part of the train as it will be split and only some coaches will travel to St. Moritz.
