In most cases, yes.
The daypass is allowed on any train, bus, boat and tramway anywhere in Switzerland (with very few exceptions like panoramic or mountain trains).
The point-to-point ticket is valid for one journey as specified on that ticket. Usually, this is one given route. It is also possible that the ticket gives you a selection; this will be printed on the ticket; for example “Zürich HB - Genève Aéroport via Bern o Biel/Bienne” where the ‘o’ is short for ‘or’.
There also would be the supersaver’s ticket which is only valid for a specific connection.
