1st June on IC21/671 Lucerne to Lugano, re seat reservation

I have booked 1st class tickets for 1st June on IC21/671 Lucerne to Lugano - but following the instructions on the web I cannot seem to be able to reserve seats even though there is a “R” symbol with this journey.

There is no seat reservation option when you press the chf.xx button - nothing happens.

Any advice out there?

From experience, you do not need a seat reservation for the train 661. It is on a Monday at noon, the expected occupancy is around 40%.

Check again 90 days before travel date.

Actually, we Swiss tax payers greatly appreciate and value any voluntary donation to our public transportation system, even if it’s just 5 CHF. 😊

This is very, very early to buy a ticket (you are probably the very first one to buy a ticket for that train) and probably to early to reserve a seat.
I would suggest you try again in May or so. Or even do it at the station on the 1st of June. The probability of all seats being reserved by the time this train leaves is 0.
