Inquiry Regarding Train Services from Zermatt to Milano on June 7, 2026

We are planning to take a train from Zermatt to Milano Centrale on the morning of June 7, 2026.
Normally, the train route goes from Zermatt via Brig and Domodossola to Milano Centrale, and the total travel time is usually around 3–4 hours.
However, when searching for train connections on June 7, 2026, no relevant services appear.
Does anyone know what the reason for this might be?

The line will be closed due to engineering works. You wil have two replacement buses from Iselle to Domodossola and Domodossola to Milano Centrale. It might be better to travel by train via Zurich. Timetables for the replacement buses are currently not availbale,

Hello, I found that when searching on the Trenitalia website, there are train services available for booking from Domodossola to Milano Centrale.
Does this mean that this section of the railway is operating on that day?

No, regional train will not run and will be also be replaced by buses. From Domodossola you have alternative routes, you could also travel via Novara or via Centovalli - Locarno (panoramic line).

Thank you for the information you provided. As the replacement bus service has not yet been announced, and in order to ensure that our itinerary would not be affected, we ultimately decided to change our route to Milan. We now plan to travel from Zermatt via Chur, take the Bernina Express to Tirano, and then continue on to Milan.
