Golden Pass and reserved seats

Hi, I’m hoping to purchase Golden Pass rail, Luzern - Interlaken Ost - Montreux and return to Luzern for 25 May 2026 (2nd class). Is the best way to book a Saver Day Pass from the SBB website then book reserved seats on the store.luzern.com website? I think I’ve over-researched and am completely baffled!

For the GoldenpassExpresd trains, you need both a ticket and a seat reservation. The ticket part is covered with a savers day pass, and I think it is best to get the seat reservation via the official MOB website. No seat reservations are needed for the section Luzern – Interlaken Ost, but it might still be worth considering as the trains are somewhat full in peak-season. Tafunge25 Thank you so much Tafunge25! From your reply I can see where to book Luzern - Interlaken Ost, however when I go to the MOB website I can’t seem to select any dates in May and I don’t have the option of Interlaken Ost to Montreux. I wonder if I have misunderstood somewhere 🙁

Annieone I do not think you missunderstood. I tried myself and could also not select what I would have wanted to select. I do not really know why this is. Here is a different link which works for me as fas as I can go without actually buying anything. Hopefully this works for you as well.

I have just booked Saver Day Pass for 25.5.26 with SBB and reserved seats with Zentralbahn Luzern to Interlaken OST, and with Goldenpass express reserved Interlaken OST to Montreux return seats. I suspect it’s too early to book the Interlaken Ost to Luzern return seats so will try in a week or so. Hope I’ve done it all correctly and was made doable with your advice which I really appreciate.

Seat reservations can be made 90 days out, usually.

Thanks Roland. I seemed to be able to reserve the seat from Luzern to Interlaken OST but will keep looking around the 90 days for the return leg 🙂
