Supersaver ticket after international night train

Hi, I have a night train arriving at 7:21 in Basel. I would like to book a supersaver ticket for a train leaving at 7:34 from Basel. My question is: if the night train is delayed and I miss my 7:34 supersaver train, will I be able to take the next train without having to purchase another ticket?
I know that this rule applies for train delays within Switzerland and I was wondering if it applied for the ones after Night trains as well.

Yes, this rule apply, but you must obtain a confirmation of the delay. In such cases, I suggest to ask the night train staff or the information point at Basel SBB.

I’ve been in this situation. And a delay confirmation wasn’t even needed as the conductor actually can see when the night train arrived.

My advise is always to not to lose time trying to get a confirmation if that would mean you miss another train…
