Swiss Travel Pass Flex

I am doing the Bernina Express on 22/5/26. I have done my seat reservations. So with the Swiss Travel Pass Flex, i dont need to pay for the Bernina Express right? Just hop on the train in Chur since I have reserved & paid for the seats. Correct?
So, we get in to Tirano late at 18:00 and therefore plan to stay the night there and travel back to Zurich the next day. The plan is to take the train (DB) from Tirano to Poschiavo, and from Poschiavo to Zurich on SBB to take advantage of my Swiss Travel Pass Flex. Can I just on the train or am I required to make a seat reservation. If so, do I need to purchase my Travel pass now?
Can I hop on and off on the way to Zurich using my pass for free?

The entire BerninaExpress untill Tirano is covered by the Swiss Travel Pass Flex, so no need to buy an additional ticket until Poschiavo. It might be worth to also get a seat reservation for the back trip…
Note that DB, being the german railway, does not run services between Tirano and Poschiavo. The only operator on the Bernina line is RhB, the Raetian Railway. Why do you think you could take a DB train for that stretch?
Note that each BerninaExpress train also has a few coaches where no reservation required, but with that also comes no guaranteed seat.

The Travelpass can be bought now or later - the price should be the same.
Between Pontresina/St. Moritz and Zürich HB, you can get off and back on as you wish - you can even use local transit (including boats) along the way.

DB does run a service from Tirano to Poschiavo - i checked on their site. I read that somewhere online and thus checked on it. However I took your advice and decided to take the Bernina Express back and only pay for reservations as I have the Flexi pass and get on and off to see other places. Just make sure to activate your travel day (you will get instructions on how to do this with your pass) before you board.

DB can sell tickets acting as reseller, but they definitely do not operate trains on that stretch, as @Tafunge25 correctly said.

You can see timetables and buy tickets on the DB site, but you will also see that DB is not the operator. European timetables are consolidated in a central database (MERITS) and every railway can download them for its own application. And if you buy a ticket through DB, you will get a Swiss ticket, DB is only a reseller.

DB does not run services in Switzerland, but even if they did you would be able to use your Swiss Flexi Pass on it. The pass is not an SBB pass, it is a “everything in Switzerland” pass. Good for all public transit in Switzerland regardless of operator.
