Hello TinaG12
Park & Rail is designed for commuters who live in the area but do not have a bus or train stop near their place. They can use the car or bike to arrive at the nearest train station to park the car/bike at the P+R for the day; in the evening, they return home by train, then by car/bike for the last miles.
The P+R is not a long time parking, however; therefore, the parking is limited for 7 days in a row. Even a monthly subscription does not allow you to park the car for a month; it simply eliminates the need of getting a daily ticket for the parking when regularly or daily used.
Keep in mind, arriving by car and then continuing by train will mean an expensive vacation. Car parkings are costly in Switzerland, less those for long term parking - yet, the latter often do not provide any shelter or surveillance.
Alternatively, you could park the car near the border in a neighbouring country and continue from there. Or you use your car to travel from destinations to destinations within Switzerland. Again, it will be a costly undertake as a train pass is not advisable in this case, resulting in high costs for the car as well as for the mountain excursions that are not doable by car.
Kind regards,
Roland
