There are two kinds of half fare cards:
The Half Fare Card which is intended towards residents and loaded onto a Swisspass (a red plastic card), and the Swiss Half Fare Card, which is issued on a piece of paper or in the app, but without needing ID verification. However, you must always be able to show ID or passport when using it on the train.
