How can I make seat reservations from Zermatt to Strausbourg?

I purchased tickets from Zermatt to Strausbourg online from SBB (and then Strausbourg to Brussels on SNCF). My SNCF tickets came with assigned seats, but my SBB tickets did not. And I can’t find a way to add seat assignments so that my group of travelers can sit together. I’ve tried calling the “from abroad” help phone number, but I am surely doing something wrong as I always get an error message. And the “Help and Contact” portion of the webpage doesn’t seem to be functioning properly. I even downloaded the SBB app, but my tickets aren’t showing up in there either. Is there any way to make/add seat reservations to an existing ticket?

Unlike in other countries, in Switzerland, tickets do not come with seat assignments as regular tickets are valid for any train during ticket validity. Furthermore, seat reservations are only possible for IC, EC, RJX, and TGV trains.

If you want to make seat reservations, please try to call: +41 51 225 78 00. If it does not work, you can still do seat reservations when you arrived in our country; any staffed railway counter can do it.

Tickets in the SBB Mobile App are displayed provided you have bought them using a customer account (logged in during purchase) and you are logged in with the same account while using the SBB Mobile App.

You cannot get seat reservations for the Zermatt - Visp train, nor can you for the Basel - Strasbourg train. You can get them for the Visp - Bern and Bern - Basel trains, but I would not bother. How big is your group? Swiss trains are rarely so full that you cannot find seats near each other.
