Seat reservation Zürich - Innsbruck

Hello everyone, Is it possible to buy a seat ticket with a previously purchased ticket, if the ticket was not purchased from SBB but from MÁV? I have already bought my ticket from MÁV, but I need to change in Innsbruck, and seat ticket purchase is not yet available until Innsbruck. Later, MÁV will not allow seat ticket purchase for the Zurich-Innsbruck section. Thank You

You can reserve only a seat on oebb.at (Austrian Railways) or in the ÖBB Mobile app. But note that engineering works are planned between Innsbruck and Zürich. Depending on the date and time of travel, you will have to change to replacement buses from Feldkirch to Buchs. Give us this information if you need more details.

Hello, thank you very much! I am traveling between Zurich and Budapest on October 23rd, 8.00-11.42 (EC163) Zurich-Innsbruck, 12.56-17.32 (RJ13477) Innsbruck-Vienna, 17.40-20.35 (RJ67) Wien-Bp. I bought my ticket at MÁV, but there are no seat tickets available for EC 163 yet (the other 2 trains are ok), and later MÁV will no longer allow it, because the Zurich-Innsbruck route is now completely international. The system does not indicate a replacement bus for this day yet. I will try to buy just the seat ticket on the SBB or ÖBB website later, I hope it will be valid with the MÁV ticket.

You can reserve a seat only on the ÖBB website. You should try later. It is probably not clear now if engineering works will end as planned on October 14th, sometimes you may have delays. The EC is rerouted, but leaves Zurich already at 06:32 instead of 08:00 during the works.
