Seat reservation error for Spiez to Domodossola

Hello everyone, I’m traveling on Friday 18.09 from Spiez to Domodossola. I understand there’s construction that morning so trains are limited. I am with my wife and have luggage, so I want to upgrade to 1st class and, if possible, make seat reservations. We have a Swiss Travel Pass for this trip. When I click on Seat Reservation and “Select Seat” on either the website or on the mobile phone app, I get an error like “The available seats cannot be loaded. Please try again.”. Am I doing something wrong?

It would be helpful to know what time you wish to travel. I suggest to take a direct RE1 along the old panoramic line (without reservation). These trains have a low floor and it is easier to travel with luggage.

Seat reservations are possible in the Intercity trains (IC), but not always in the Eurocity (EC), which are often fully booked.

Hi Danhiel I plan on taking the IC6 at 10:05. Because of the construction, the RE1 at 10:12 (which I wanted to take) will take almost 2 hours. It looks like the IC6 will be pretty crowded, and it’s been difficult for us to take crowded trains with our large luggage, which is why I thought it would be a good idea to buy the upgrade and reserve seats.

In made a test. It is not possible to select the seats on a map, but it works without selection, the system will automatically assign seats.
