Hi,

If I have a Swiss Pass (as a foreigner/tourist), do I need to buy a ticket for the ride from Milan to Zurich on EC or other trains?

Thank you for your request.

The Swisspass is only the carrier medium. The decisive factor is the service, the subscription on the SwissPass.

I assume that you have the Swiss Travel Pass. See in the map where it is valid. For a trip from/to Milano you need a ticket, as the route is not included (see map of validity). Likewise, in the EC train a seat reservation (for abroad) is mandatory.

Can I confirm that the EC train from Brig to Domodossola is free using Swiss Travel Pass (because there is dotted line in the area of validity map)? and can we choose “GA Travel” as reduction because I did not see “Swiss Travel Pass” when choosing Brig to Milano?
