Germany to Switzerland

I am looking at travelling from Hamburg to Zermatt to pick up the Glacier Express. Can I use a Swiss Travel Pass for all or part of the train journey?

No. As the ticket name indicates, the Swiss Travel Pass is valid for Switzerland, not for Germany. You will have to buy a ticket to “Basel Bad Bf” (not a big price difference). From there, your STP is valid to Zermatt.

I suggest buying the ticket with Deutsche Bahn, the German railways, Cheap Train Tickets | Timetables for Germany & Europe - Deutsche Bahn. Alternatively, you can buy it from The SBB online portal for trains and public transport | SBB (yet, not possible via SBB Mobile app).
