RolandP Hi alis_formi No. The half fare card has to be valid on the day of travel and not simply on the day of ticket purchase. The only person checking if you are entitled to travel on half fare is the ticket inspector. If you travel with a half fare ticket without half fare card, you risk to be forced to pay a surcharge of at least CHF 70. If you are talking about the half fare card for residents, you can simply renew it seamlessly and will benefit from a loyalty discount: The Half Fare Travelcard on the SwissPass | SBB Best regards, Roland
