Beware, the seat reservation is quite expensive even with a Saver Day Pass. This explains the high ticket cost displayed on the GEX website.
In order to buy the seat reservation, choose “GA” or “Swiss Travel Pass” from the field “Reductions”.
What concerns the area of validity, there is no difference. However, to buy the Day Pass for Halbtax ine most possess the Half Fare Card (Halbtax). The pass has a fixed cost of CHF 75 and does never sell out.
The Saver Day Pass is available with or without (Swiss) Half Fare Card, the number of available passes per day is limited and can sell out; plus, the cost for the pass rises the higher the demand. It goes on sale 60 days out.
