Saver day pass

I bought the saver day pass for the day I will be traveling a long distance. However it doesn’t seem like I can pre-book the specific train that I want to take. Im afraid it’ll be sold out if I don’t pre-book it. How do I do this?

A Saver Day Pass is a great offer and entitles you to use the Swiss public transport system at low cost for the selected day and until 05.00 AM the next day (arrival time).
Swiss trains are mass transit; hence, you do not have to prebook a specific train; you simply get on a train that suits your travel plans and take a free seat available on the train. You can hop on & off as many times you want. And the Saver Day Pass does not only offer unlimited travel in trains yet also in buses, tramways, and certain boats. General speaking, seat reservations on Swiss trains are optional and only possible on IC trains. For border-crossing EC trains as well as PE (panoramic) trains, seat reservations are mandatory. The Swiss public transportation offers hundreds of connections every day. In the unlikely event you miss a connection, you simply take the next service, which usually departs in 30 or 60 minutes or even earlier. RolandP Thanks so much for your help! So I am traveling from lauterbrunnen to Chiasso, and it looks like there are lots of different routes.Does this mean I should look them up ahead of time to figure out which connections I need to catch? Im a little intimidated by it that’s why I wanted to pre-book 😅

This is the advantage of the Saver Day Pass; it allows you to freely choose your way of travel without being tied to a specific connection.

I suggest following route:

Lauterbrunnnen-Interlaken Ost

Interlaken Ost-Lucerne.

Lucerne-Chiasso.

Connections as provided by the online timetable are safe and well doable as they include enough buffer for changing trains at intermediate stations.

Interlaken Ost to Lucerne is operated by Luzern-Interlaken Express and is one of the most scenic train journeys in our country. Sit right hand side in direction of travel for the best views.
