First, I apologize if this specific information is available some place else and I have not located it. We purchased tickets on EuroCity #327 on 22 September from Zürich to Como and it no longer appears that this train is operating due to the Gotthard Tunnel derailment. I see on this website that train #EC 10317 is departing from Zürich HB at the previously ascribed time of 10:33 with a train change to S 11 25053 in Chiasso. I have had several exchanges with Rail Europe (where the tickets were purchased) and they have provided no solution and indicated I should contact SBB CFF FFS for any information or assistance or just purchase new tickets and accept my loss. I am not finding a contact on this site other than phone.
Rail Europe has informed me that my tickets will not be honored on the above mentioned trains and there is no recourse prior to my arrival at the station to resolve this. My general question is, what, if anything, can we do in advance of our arrival in Zürich to attempt to resolve this? We had purchased prima classe tickets, but I’m guessing that is not an option at this point and again it appears based on my communication with Rail Europe there is no compensation there either. We appreciate any advice that is provided.
