Hello everyone. My name is Bryan Uniskai.

I Would like to ask regarding a Train that I bought from sbb.cff.ffs official site.

I bought a seat reservations from Zermatt to Interlaken West via VISP & SPIEZ
Unfortunately, when I received the email, they just sent me the tickets from VISP -> SPIEZ and SPIEZ -> INTERLAKEN WEST - plus using a Swiss Travel Pass

My question is, why I didn’t get the seat reservation from ZERMATT -> VISP

I multiple times asked the Customer Service or Contact, but no one replied and keep asking me to ask from one to another email.

Then I decide to ask through here since it’s a big community.

Please let me know and assist me on it.

For most train lines in Switzerland, except some PE services, reservations are totally optional and therefore not required. Our trains use a free seating system, you simply get on a train and take a free seat.

In addition, optional seat reservations are only possible for IC, IR, EC, ICE, RJX, and TGV services, not so for R, RE, RER, or S services.

This explains why you haven’t got a seat reservation for the Zermatt to Visp stretch as it is operated as a R service.
