Geneva airport to Milan central station

Hi. My name is James From Michigan, US. I plan to travel by fast train from Geneva airport (after drop rental car) to Milan central station by SBB train in early October. Qs:

1). What is the best way to go?

2). Any direct train? Do i have to switch at any station/place?

3). Someone said there are frequent falling rocks which may block the train and delayed. Therefore he recommend other alternative way or ask me to book ticket from main station in Geneva in stead of Geneva airport. Is it true?

There are direct trains to Milano Centrale, they leave from Geneva Main station (Cornavin). Please note that work will be carried out on the lines in Italy, and the trains are being replaced by buses between Domodossola & Milano Centrale.

Most trains departing from Geneva Airport stop at Geneva/Geneva Cornavin. The journey takes no more than 15 minutes. The stops are listed in the timetable.
