Can I get a 50% discount on rail tickets I’ve already purchased with a rail card?

I am a temporary visitor to Switzerland (but my office is here, so I will come several times a year). Yesterday I needed to buy 200CHF worth of tickets. Obviously a rail card would be helpful, but it takes 10 days to issue, which I don’t have time for. If I purchase a rail card, am I able to retrospectively claim 50% off full fare tickets I have already bought? Even as credit for future trips?

As a new customer, you can order your Half Fare travelcard online at sbb.ch/en/half-fare.

During the ordering process an identity check takes place. Please have a valid identification document ready (passport or identity card). The travelcard can be used immediately after the purchase.

As soon as you have your half fare travelcard, you may submitt a refund request for the full price tickets you already purchased and order new tickets with the half fare reduction. Refund of tickets purchased online and via mobile | SBB help & contact
