Hi,

I hold a Supersaver Ticket from Luzern to Zurich and a separate ticket from Zurich to Venice. With the closure of Gotthard Base Tunnel, the departure of train from Zurich has been modified to 1-hour early. This means I cannot make the connection when using the Supersaver ticket. Is it possible to use this ticket for an earlier connection from Luzern to Zurich? I understand that modification is not allowed for Supersaver tickets but given the unforeseen circumstances, have any rules changed?

Indeed, this is feasible in these particular circumstances.

I was just wondering why you’re going from Lucerne to Zurich to catch a train to Venice, it’s a huge and unnecessary detour. You could have easily traveled to Arth-Goldau or Zug to catch the train there. I suggest reconsidering your travel plans.

RolandP Thank you for the response and valuable suggestion. Looks like we missed the information that we could have made the connection in Arth-Goldau. Will definitely reconsider the plans 🙂

Since you already hold the Supersaver ticket, you could travel as far as Zug, and change trains there. This way, you do not need a new ticket, and you still save yourself some travel time.
