Hi Magdalena1
Thank you for your assistance on this question. I should clarify that we will have 2 separate bike reserations at Rentabike.ch that I have made online. (we won’t bike over the weekend between the 2 reservations, hence 2 different reservations).
a. I have made separate reservations for each week using the rentabike.ch website and they are for identical rentabike Herzroute FLYER GoTour5 e-bikes in each reservation. The only difference is the pickup stations where we will make payment for the rentabike bikes.
b. Week one we will pay at the Thun train station and the receipt we will receive is printed on the same cardstock that is used for train tickets. It will be obvious that the receipt is from a train station.
c. Because of availability of bikes for week 2, I will pickup and pay for the rentabike.ch rented bikes at the Burgdorf velostation. The receipt will look different than the week one receipt and is not issued at a train station.
d. In both cases, I will have the rentabike.ch reservation documents.
e. It seems like Tarif 600.section 7.8 would allow for the rentabike.ch bikes free transportation and makes no mention of where we pickup and pay the rental for the bikes. But the rentabike.ch website says: “Rental bikes can only be taken on trains free of charge if the rental contract has been issued at a railway ticket office”.
f. The other person answering (RolandP) has a pending request with SBB about how we can take advantage of the free rentabike.ch transportation regardless of where we pickup the bikes. The Tarif document 600: 7.8.1 does not say that the rental agreement must be issued by the train station…only that they are Rentabike bicycles. “7.8.1 Bicycles rented from Rent a Bike by individual travelers may be transported free of charge for short-term rentals of up to one month. The rental agreement serves as the transport authorization for the rental bicycle.”
Thank you again for your reply. Looking forward to hearing the answer from SBB.
