1st class supersaver ticket Zurich to Stresa still ok?

My husband and I arrive to Zurich airport from US with intentions to use our 1st class supersaver ticket to travel to Stresa Italy. Now that the Gotthard tunnel is closed, will this ticket still take us to Stresa? We think yes, just will take longer, but are concerned because it is Saturday travel and train may be crowded. Your help is appreciated!

Is your Supersaver ticket itinerary via Gotthard and Chiasso? Please check again. If so, yes, the Supersaver ticket remains valid.

Please bear in mind that we do not recommend traveling on a Supersaver ticket when arriving by air. In the event of a flight delay, your Supersaver ticket will no longer be valid for a subsequent connection. Therefore, you must be able to get on the train at Zurich Airport, as indicated on your ticket - enough transfer time between the flight and the train is imperative.

Our supersaver ticket is Zurich to Brig, Brig to Domodossola, then regional train to Stresa. We did not purchase a ticket from Zurich to Chiasso as the journey was much longer. Will the supersaver ticket take me all the way to Stresa as is implied on my ticket receipt? Does SBB run trains from Brig to Domodossola, or only Trenitalia? It is confusing.

Where exactly is the Gotthard tunnel? I do not see it on a map.

Our plane arrives in the morning, so we feel confident we will have enough time to travel in the 24 hour period. Thank you for your help!

Our supersaver ticket is Zurich to Brig, Brig to Domodossola, then regional train to Stresa.

That’s what I expected. Consequently, you are not travelling through the impacted Gotthard route, you are travelling through the Simplon tunnel.

SBB network ends in Domodossola. From Domodossola, there is a regional train operated by the Italian railways.
