Hello, my little sister’s free school ticket has expired, so we need to buy her a ticket, and we’re currently looking for several options. From some info on the website and brochures I understood that children before sixteen don’t need a half fare card to buy cheaper tickets, is it true? If it is, then can you just buy half fare option tickets at ZVV and SBB apparats? Thanks in advance

To answer your question:

Yes, children aged 6 to 15.99 can buy reduced tickets without a Half fare card.

When travelling with parents, there is the Junior Card. It entitles the child to travel for free when accompanied by at least one parent which is holding a valid ticket: Junior Travelcard | SBB
