Milano-Lugano Arcobaleno Ticket

Hello

I will be visiting Milano and want to go to Lugano on one day trip. On sbb website I can see the ticket “Arcobaleno Transfrontaliera Einzelbillett“. It says valid 4 hours, for all means of transport. My questions are:

1. Where to buy and validate it? I know that on trenitalia you need to validate. Also while going back I will not have internet access, can it be bought in some vending machine?
2. Can I use it to travel from Sesto S. Giovanni to Lugano (it includes one change) and then on city bus in Lugano, if it is all within 4 hours?
