When does the Halbtax become available for tickets booked in advance?

I just bought a Halbtax for the first time in a few years and I’ve set the activation date for mid-May, the day before I will take my first long train trip of the year. However when I try to book tickets on SBB.ch the discount isn’t recognised for the trip, even though it’s after the activation date for the Halbtax. Am I missing something or does the Halbtax also need to be active at the time of booking, not just at the time of the trip? Thanks!

The Half-Fare Card is only considered in the app from the first day of validity. However, you can adjust your details in the settings under Travelers. Simply select the Half-Fare travelcard in the subscriptions and buy the tickets in advance. However, if you buy tickets with departure before the validity of the Half-Fare travelcard, I ask you to delete the manually added travelcard again, so that it does not come to a wrong purchase.
