What does Fully Flexible Fares mean? On a route from Interlaken Ost to Milano Centrale

Hello,

I am trying to book a ticket from Interlaken Ost to Milano Centrale via Zurich.

Both the tickets have ‘Flexible Fares Offer’ written next to them but its not clear what that exactly means. In the case I am unable to take the next connection can I take the next train that comes on the same day?

Because of the flexible fares offered, the ticket is valid on any train serving your route. This is true as far as Chiasso. For the Chiasso-Milano Centrale stretch, you are required to hold a seat reservation, as they are mandatory on Eurocity trains in Italy. You will need a new seat reservation if you wish to use a later train from Zurich HB to Milan.
