Best option for frequent travel Zurich-Zug

Hi! I will need to travel from Zurich to Zug and back aprox twice a week. Which would be the best ticket option for this trip and this frequency? Thanks in advance

Most route season tickets can be calculated and ordered in the SBB Ticket Shop.

Go to sbb.ch/en/buy and select «Travelcard ans passes». Then click on the link «Monthly and Annual Point-to-Point Travelcard» under «Point-to-Point Travelcard». Please follow the instructions.

If you are travelling twice a week only, the best option might be to purchase a Half Fare Card and and then buy individual tickets for the corresponding travel days with the half fare reduction.

I already have ZVV (all zone) annual passe, now I moved to zug and I purchansed Zug zones annual pass as sbb stuff suggested which covers all stops and zones from zug to zurich. The stuff in train station said it covers all, but I got fined and the stuff told me I cannot travel cross Kanton even all zones and stops are covered. The reason on the paper for the fine is “missing stop/zone” so I asked him which zone is missing, he cannot tell but just let me sign the fine… Do you know how it works in this case? can I combine annual tickets to cover all zones / stops for my journey? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for not posting your comment more than once; since we are volunteers we are indeed thankful for not having to answer the same question multiple times.

Now, you need need a Z-PASS ZVV-TVZG/TVSZ, not a ZVV pass. The ZVV pass is not valid in the canton of Zug. You cannot use the ZVV pass on IR 70 and IR 75 trains. Thus, the conductor (staff, not stuff) was right.

See an agent at the SBB travel center to change your travel card.

Actually as I mentioned, besides ZVV(all zones in Zurich kanton) , I also bought the Zug zones annual ticket.
I went to see the sbb agent and he told me to do so.

You cannot combine travel cards from two different fare networks to commute between the two. You must have a Z-Pass ZVV-TVZG/TVSZ travel card.

If you think that you got wrong advice from the ticket agent, you can file a complaint. The responsible department is able to see by whom the ticket was sold:

Indeed, the conductor does not have to explain to you in details what is wrong with your ticket. This is to be discussed with the Servicecenter Einnahmen. The conductor simply decides whether the ticket is valid or invalid based on what you present.

In that case it would appear that you got incorrect advise from the ticket agent, and as a result got fined. So you do have a ground for a complaint.
