Half fare card with 4 day Travel pass

Hello!

I’m flying into Geneva on a Friday, then moving around the country using trains (inc Glacier Express) before flying out from Zurich on the Tuesday. Is the best option for me to buy a Half fare card (120CHF for foreign guests) and then buy a 4 Day Travel Pass (446CHF - 1st Class). Would the Half fare card then reduce the cost of the 4 Day Pass down to 223CHF?

No, the Half Fare Travelcard does not apply to the SwissTravelPass.

So what would a Half Fare Card be used for?

I see that there is an option for ‘guests from abroad’, so what tickets would it give a 50% saving on?

(Just trying to figure out the best way for me to cost my trip!)

I am doing the following journeys, which are bookable at the following costs for 1st Class:

Geneva to Zermatt 75CHF

Zermatt to St Moritz 100CHF

St Moritz to Tirano - return trip to St Moritz 90CHF

St Moritz to Zurich 100CHF

Total 365CHF - 50% reduction = 183CHF

Half Fare Card for Guests from Abroad 120CHF

Grand Total 303CHF

A 4 Day Swiss Pass in 1st Class is 447CHF

Is this correct and I should book the train journeys individually and use a Half Fare card to save 144CHF??

The Swiss Half Fare Card gives you a 50% discount on simple regular tickets. For example, if a ticket costs CHF 20.00, you can pay CHF 10.00 if you have the Swiss Half Fare Card.

You can calculate the prices of your journeys with help of our online time-table. The system will show you the correct prices.

You must buy the point-to-point tickets separately for each journey and select the “Half-Fare travelcard” option.

Make sure you have your Half-Fare travelcard valid before your first departure.
