Train from Geneva to Zermatt in November 2023

Dear SBB,

I am travelling from Geneva to Zermatt on 1st November 2023. However,
I can’t purchase any train tickets from Visp to Zermatt. Based on SBB website, the connections had changed to a bus between Visp to Tasch.

I can’t purchase the bus ticket as well from Visp to Tasch.
Is there any disruption during this period?
May I know is there any other solution for me?

From 16 October to 9 November, work is being carried out on the railway line between Visp and Täsch. For this reason, replacement buses are being organised. It is not possible to buy tickets for the buses, so we advise you to buy them from the driver.

The Visp - Zermatt line is not operated by SBB. For any other questions, please contact the company Matterhorn Gotthard Railway directly.

Tickets between Visp and Täsch via “train” are also valid on the bus replacement service. This means, you can choose any connection on November 1st and choose the point to point ticket option. In this case you will recieve a ticket which is valid the entire day on the chosen stretch.

Which mean I will need to purchase ticket from Geneva to Visp through SBB. Then I will need to purchase the bus ticket from Mattherhon Gotthard Railway directly to Zermatt. Am I right?

Do you have any idea how much is the bus fare cost and whether Saver Day Pass is covered for the ride?

This is correct. You can buy Geneva - Visp through SBB and Visp - Zermatt by the bus driver.

We cannot give you prices. As Visp - Zermatt is a regular route and there are just circulating busses instead of trains, Saver Day Pass covers as well.

Good Day.

I had emailed Mattherhon Gotthard Railway regarding the timetable and bus ticket. They mentioned the timetable is same as the timetable displayed in SBB. The train ticket is same as the bus ticket and could purchase on SBB.

However, I could purchase any ticket from Visp to Zermatt on SBB.

Any suggestions on this matter?
