Saver day pass

I’ve been looking at journeys of the glacier express from Chur to Zurich in June this year via the SBB app.

I see that there are a few options for tickets on the app this far out for the journey selected. I have a half fare travel card and see that a saver day pass is available (59 CHF)

I know that a seat reservation is mandatory for the glacier express regardless of class/ticket type.

My question(s) is; will the saver day pass option cover the journey of the glacier express (excluding the mandatory seat reservation)?

And will the day saver pass cover other train journeys on the same day of validity, for example a train journey from Zurich to Chur prior to the glacier express connection ?

The price is very inexpensive hence my doubts on the validity for travelling on the glacier express.

Yes, the Saver Day Pass covers the Glacier Express as well as all major train lines. Seat reservation is to be booked separately.

The SDP price of CHF 59 is usually the starting price for the SDP without half fare card. Have you activated the half fare reduction in your SBB Mobile app yet? The SDP with half fare starts from CHF 29.

What is the date of travel so we can quickly verify the cost ourselves?

Yes my half fare card is active, I’ve chosen 1st class hence the 59 CHF, 2nd class is indeed 29 CHF.

RomanoS I certainly will share my thoughts and experiences travelling through Switzerland.

From the interactive map of the GA travel area you shared, am I correct in saying that trains are red lines, boats blue and buses yellow? All of which are free with a saver day pass, I couldn’t see any areas that weren’t but I understand that there are.
