Companion ticket

I purchased a companion ticket on my SBB account. However, I forgot to change the name on the companion ticket, therefore I now have a saver day pass and a companion pass for Friday 4/20 under my name. Is there a way to correct this ?

This is not possible, there is no refund, no exchange - you have to purchase a new ticket.

The companion ticket must bear the name and date of birth of your companion.

Is there a way that I can explain my mistake to the inspector if asked to show both tickets (saver day pass and companion pass both bought under my name ) ?

From a legal perspective you (resp. your companion) are travelling with an invalid ticket. The conditions are clear before purchase, see screenshot below.

I am unable to say whether or not you should travel with this ticket. If you do, be aware that the conductor has the right to fine your companion with a CHF 90 surcharge plus a new ticket. It is your full responsibility and decision, though.
