Receive a wrong invoice and commandment de payer

I received a commandment de payer for an unpaid invoice (•••••••••••••) for a fine ticket. However, I believe I never received such a fine ticket. I tried to call different numbers of SBB but no one can help on this matter. Could you kindly suggest on this matter?

When you have contacted multiple SBB phone numbers, and you were not successful, how could we help out?

The only phone number to contact concerning unpaid invoices for travel without a valid ticket is the following: 0848 00 11 33. This, given the letter is sent from SBB.

It might be a scam attempt, be careful; you certainly know whether you were caught on a public transport service without a valid ticket, don’t you? And if so, you can answer yourself whether this invoice is justified or not, eh?

RolandP Hey RolandP, I have tried to call 0848 00 11 33 for the whole day and they kept suggesting I submit my requests through the SBB website. I told them that the invoice was not justified but they said they didn’t have permission to access the invoice records for 2023 and therefore they could not help me to verify the invoice.

If it was from 2023, was it sent from Intrum or SBB? Did it arrive by e-mail or postal letter? It sounds off odd to me that you would receive a payment reminder by e-mail for an invoice from 2023. I am still certain this is a scam.

RolandP Dear Roland, thanks a lot. It arrives by a postal letter from Office des poursuites du district de l’Ouest lausannois. I have never received an email as a reminder. I have received an email from Rechtliches Inkasso SBB SBB CFF FFS that suggests I pay to the Office des poursuites du district de l’Ouest lausannois. But I still don’t know why I was issued this commandment de payer, because they also confirmed that I have paid my invoice from the only time I got from Ticket Control, and the commandment de payer is associated with another invoice that I am sure it is not triggered by me.

I see. Someone might have abused your personal data …

You should contact your “Assurance protection juridique”, if you have one, to assist you in this matter

(btw, are you French speaking, it would be a lot easier for me to explain it in French as there are so many legal terms, for which I have a hard time finding the English translation…)

You also have to contact Office des poursuites du district de l’Ouest lausannois by a consigned letter (Lettre recommandée), and tell them that you make an “opposition à la poursuite”. In this case, SBB has to prove that you were indeed the person travelling.

I find it important that you ask for help from either your insurance or from a lawyer. Contact the Office des poursuites du district de l’Ouest lausannois to discuss the next steps.
