Hello Birmont
Per adult:
- You need a 2nd class ½ fare Point-to-point ticket from Saanen to Montreux, to extend your BOP @ CHF 13.50
- You need a ½ fare Point-to-point Class Upgrade ticket from Interlaken Ost to Montreux @ CHF 20.00
- You need a Golden Pass Express Prestige seat reservation for Interlaken Ost to Montreux @ CHF 49.
We are having difficulty navigating the booking on the SBB app.
Yes, it is because you can purchase a ticket from Saanen, while the Golden Pass Express (GPX) does not stop at Saanen. https://www.berneseoberlandpass.ch/faq/
You can purchase the tickets from SBB. However, it is not possible to purchase a ticket from Saanen to Montreux on the SBB Mobile app for the GPX, as it does not stop at Saanen, and the ticket sales in the app are based on the timetable, thus no connection.
To purchase the ticket, you have to choose a PE GoldenPass Panoramic connection (Saanen - Montreux) that stops at Saanen. Although you choose a GoldenPass Panoramic connection, you can use it on the GPX, too. Choosing the GoldenPass Panoramic connection is only needed to get a point-to-point ticket from Saanen to Montreux. The ticket is valid for the entire day, no matter which train you ultimately take. It allows 1 single ride from Saanen to Montreux on any train.
As all sounds a bit complex, I suggest purchasing the tickets on-site at the station’s travel office in Interlaken Ost. There is no need to purchase the tickets in advance, they do not sell out.

The only time critical and therefore to be purchased in advanced is the seat reservation; however, it is solely available from MOB, as the seat reservation is in the responsibility of the operating railways company.

Does that sound reasonable?
Please let me know if you need more help.
Kind regards,
Roland
