Junior Turning 16 Right Before Visit

Hello -
We are visiting in late December and my son turns 16 in early December. I purchased half fare cards for us all, but it won’t let me add that discount in his online profile (only showing junior or child discount options - I assume it’s because currently he’s 15). So when trying to purchase saver day pass tickets for our visit it’s only giving me the full price option for him. Anyone dealt with this and know how to fix it?

You do not need to have the half fare card already in order to buy tickets or saver day passes. You can indicate during purchase that you want a ticket with half fare reduction.
It is only at the moment of travel that the HFC is checked, so by that time you should make sure that Junior has his HFC too. You can always buy it when here.

The issue is that when I go to book the saver day pass on the website it won’t let me select the half fare discount (I can either select no discount or a junior fare). I don’t want to wait until I’m there to book the tickets because I understand there’s dynamic pricing and it will likely go up the closer we get to the date. I downloaded the app and was able to select half fare for him there (but still wont’ work on website).

Go to the SBB Mobile app, Tab ‘Shop & Services’ ⟶ ‘Day Passes Switzerland’ ⟶ ‘Saver Day Pass’, there you should be able to purchase it.

Can you please let us know his date of birth and for which date you want to purchase a Saver Day Pass for him?
