First of all, please understand that the SBB Community is a customer-to-customer support forum run by volunteers. We are not SBB, thus, when you say, your website, you mean the SBB website.
Well, when you say, it is on the SBB’s website, it is clearly not an offer from SBB. It is an offer from Coop, SBB simply provides the interface through its webshop to purchase it.
If you are not a Coop Hello Family member, you are not eligible to purchase it, according to the conditions from Coop Hello Family program. It is your own responsibility and risk if you purchase it, though.
To answer your questions:
The card requires that one family member has a Halbtax. Can I purchase this card if I hold a Swiss Half Fare Card?
Does the coverage of this card match that of the GA Travelcard? Does it allow free travel on ferries, mountain lifts, and certain cable cars?
- It matches the GA area of validity. However, the GA is not valid for mountain excursions, except for Mt. Rigi, Mt. Stanserhorn, Stoos, Klewenalp, and Rochers-de-Naye.
Can I use this card to purchase discounted tickets for Jungfraujoch or First Mountain for both of us?
- No. The validity is the same as for (Saver) Day Passes, thus no discount. The GA discount is only granted for GA holders, or Swiss Travel Pass holders. With the Swiss Half Fare Card you can still benefit from a 50% discount.
Is this card applicable for entry to the Bern museums and zoo?
I think you are better off buying the Swiss Travel Pass, or the Swiss Half Fare Card. Both come with the free Swiss Family Card that allows your kids to travel for free when accompanied by you, and you have a valid ticket.
