Half fare plus refund processing fee?

Hi,

I know that if you don’t use up all your deposit on a Half Fare Plus, you get the remainder refunded. I heard a rumour though that you don’t get a full refund, since a processing fee is deducted from the remaining amount, but can’t find any info about this on the SBB website. Does anyone know about this?

At the end of validity (one year) a full refund is made automatically without fee. If you want a refund before the end of validity, you have to pay a fee of 10 CHF.

Your question is answered in the Halbtax PLUS GTC:

If the contracting party still has Half Fare Travelcard PLUS credit after a year or wishes to cancel it early, they are refunded the remaining customer deposit (original customer deposit minus the credit used) minus a processing fee (deductible amount). The bonus amount expires.

The processing fee for cancellations is CHF 10, as per Tariff 600.9.
