Z-Pass all zones question

Hi,
If I buy a z-pass (Zug/schwyz) from rotkreuz to Zurich HB, with all zones, can I travel to the Zurich airport for free or can I only travel between these two points?

Welcome to the SBB Community.

A Rotkreuz to Zurich HB ticket will not allow to travel to Zurich Airport. It is not an ‘ Z Pass Alle Zonen’ ticket; it’s a 9 zones ticket.
If you want to travel to the airport, please purchase a Rotkreuz to Zurich Airport ticket (10 zones).

A Z-Pass ZVV/TVZG/TVSZ Alle Zonen (all zones) ticket would indeed allow you to travel to the airport. It is valid within the Z-Pass ZVV/TVZG/TVSZ area. See its validity map here:

Thanks a lot for your reply, so to clarify the all zones ticket below will allow me to travel everywhere in the map you posted, regardless of the start and end zone?

Yes, although it’s an overkill for a trip to the airport 🙂

Is there a specific reason that you want this all zones ticket?

RolandP Yes sorry I should have been clearer. I need to buy a Z-Pass abo from Rotkreuz to Zurich HB and the year price is 2700 for 9 zones or 2883 for All Zones, so I was wondering if it made sense to spend the 183 more for the occasional trips, but if I can travel everywhere within the map that you posted for that price, then it makes sense to me 🙂

That’s indeed a reasonable conclusion. I second your opinion.

Just keep in mind: the all zones pass is valid for all zones in/around Zug and Schwyz but not so in the ZVV fare network. There you must use the Z-PASS Korridor Schwyz/Zug validity map to know where your all zones pass is valid in the ZVV. But I think you got that.
